Hello, Enjoy Your Life is here. When foreigners visit South Korea, they usually consider Seoul, Busan, or Jeju Island. However, there are other places that are also worth visiting. One of them is Geoje, Korea. Today, I will introduce Enjoy Your Life’s recommended places to visit in Geoje-do.
Geoje-do — if there is “-do” after the name of a place, it means “island.” However, you can now drive to Geoje-do, as it is connected by a bridge.
If you are staying in or near Seoul while traveling in South Korea and would like to visit Geoje-do, you can get there by plane, car, or KTX. If you go by plane, you will enter Geoje-do through Gimhae International Airport or Sacheon Airport. Since there are not many flights from Gimpo Airport to Sacheon Airport, I personally prefer traveling from Gimpo Airport to Gimhae International Airport.
Must Visit Places
1. Haegeumgang Cruise Ship
Address: 270 Haegeumgang-ro, Nambu-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
Phone #: 82-55-633-1352
If you come to Geoje Island, I strongly recommend taking the Haegeumgang cruise. Personally, I was really satisfied with the experience. There are several courses available, but if you get seasick easily or just want a quick taste of Geoje, I suggest the 50-minute course.
The 50-minute course goes from Haegeumgang Dock → Haegeumgang → Woojebong → Sinseondae → Dapodo Island.
Shall we experience it through videos?
Summary: It was such a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone considering a trip to Geoje Island. For me, it’s definitely a 5 out of 5 — that’s how good it was!
2. Oedo Botania + Haegeumgang
Address: Oedo Marine Farm, 17, Oedo-gil, Ilun-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
Phone #: 82-55-681-4541
If you want to experience something different during your trip to Korea or Geoje Island, I recommend visiting Oedo Botania. Since Oedo is an island, you’ll need to take a boat to get there. There are several small ports that offer boats to Oedo, so it’s best to check the location of your accommodation and choose the most convenient port. Personally, I usually take the Oedo + Haegeumgang route by boat from Jangseungpo Dock.

My impressions of Oedo Botania were unforgettable. However, I was a bit disappointed because the noodles at one of the cafés were overcooked and didn’t taste very good.
Summary: It was such a great experience, and I truly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Geoje Island. For me, it’s an easy 5 out of 5 — that’s how much I enjoyed it!
3. Hill of Wind
Address: Mount Galgot-ri, Nambu-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, 14-47
If you’re reluctant to take a boat because of seasickness, I highly recommend this spot for enjoying the beautiful scenery of Geoje Island. Personally, it reminded me a little of Cape Chinen Park in Okinawa, Japan. Be sure to wear comfortable sneakers, as you’ll need to do some walking. And I could clearly see why it’s called the Hill of Wind—the wind was really strong!
Shall we watch a video clip so you can experience the Hill of Wind for yourself?
Summary: It was such a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Geoje Island. For me, it’s definitely a 5 out of 5 — that’s how amazing it was!
Have a great day.
