Gimhae was the capital of the ancient Gaya kingdom and is located very close to Busan, Korea's second-largest city. While Gimhae doesn’t have many 5-star accommodations compared to Busan, the neighboring city offers several excellent 5-star hotels, which I’ve introduced below for your reference.
Lotte Hotels & Resort Gimhae Location
The hotel is located close to Gimhae International Airport (about a 30-minute drive) and is near attractions such as Lotte Outlet and Gimhae Lotte Water Park.
Lotte Hotel & Resort Gimhae is a five-star hotel and resort that opened on October 8, 2024, and has quickly become a popular new destination.
The hotel is part of a larger complex that includes Lotte Outlet and other facilities, creating a kind of "Lotte Town" atmosphere. From the moment I entered the hotel parking lot, the scale of the property felt impressive. The parking facilities include one underground level and one ground-level parking area. Since I visited on a weekday, it wasn’t very crowded.
As the hotel was built very recently, the entire facility was exceptionally clean and modern. The interior design also reflected the elegant aesthetic commonly found in Lotte Department Stores, adding to the overall sense of quality.
Now, let’s move on to a detailed review of the room.
Room & Pool/Sauna & Fitness Center & Golden KAYA(Dinner) & Other facilities
The hotel offers several room types, including Deluxe, Family, Suite, Premium Suite, Pool Suite, Presidential, and Royal Suites.
I stayed in a A-Type Twin Double Suite, so I’ll introduce that room to you in detail.
A-Type Twin Double Suite
The interior of the room was clean and well-maintained, as expected from a newly built hotel. It seemed well-suited for families, with a small kitchen and two separate rooms. However, while the space was comfortable and practical, the design felt more casual than luxurious.
Pool & Sauna
The pool is located on the second floor and conveniently connects both the indoor and outdoor swimming areas, making it easy for guests to use. However, unlike many hotels where the pool is complimentary for guests, there’s an additional fee here.
As of June 2025, the pool fee for hotel guests is 20,000 KRW for adults and 15,000 KRW for children, with the same rates applying to both the indoor and outdoor pools.
The pool operates from 06:00 to 22:00.
The sauna is available for 18,000 KRW per guest, and its operating hours are the same as the pool.
Fitness Center
The fitness center is also located on the second floor, right next to the pool, and I was quite pleased with it. The space was spacious, clean, and comfortable to use.
Golden KAYA (Dinner)
For dinner, I ordered a single dish at Golden Gaya. Since it was a weekday, the restaurant was quite empty, and I ended up dining alone in the large space. I chose the sashimi donburi, but unfortunately, I was quite disappointed considering the price.
Since I was near the coast and personally enjoy sashimi, I had high expectations — but to be honest, the dish didn’t meet them.
Other Facilities
The hotel has several other facilities, including Chinese restaurant - Jinhai on the 8th floor, Golden KAYA on the 1st floor, an indoor screen tennis court and golf practice range, a laundry room on the basement level (B1), and a 7-Eleven convenience store, also on B1.
Although it’s named a hotel & resort, it feels more like a resort in concept — quite similar to Sono Hotel & Resort.
Summary: I really appreciated the cleanliness and freshness of the hotel, as expected from a newly built five-star property. While I was a little disappointed that some aspects still felt like they were in the early stages of development, I was overall satisfied with the pleasant scent throughout the hotel, the comfort of the facilities, the attentive service, and the sense of luxury I felt upon arrival. I would give it 4 out of 5 points.
Gourmet in Gimhae + Happy Dream Life's recommended Must Visit Place in Gimhae
In my personal opinion, I felt that Gimhae doesn’t have many attractions or food options that stood out to me. Many people around me recommended trying back meat (pork neck), but personally, I didn’t find it particularly special.
That said, there were a few places I did enjoy, and I’d still like to recommend them.

Personally, I had watery bibim (spicy mixed noodles) and boiled pork, and I really enjoyed both.

I also enjoyed the seafood noodle soup and Korean pancakes — they were delicious. However, I ended up with an upset stomach afterward. I’m not sure if it was because of the food, but the meal itself was very good.

It is located near 이랑수산생국수집. It's good to look around for exercise after meals.
Must Try Korean Dessert in Gimhae - Bingsu

When you enter the store, they sell fresh fruits. Bingsu comes with Thai-style rainbow mango shaved ice. As shown in the photo above, it comes with mango shaved ice, passion fruit, and mango sauce — and it was really sweet and delicious.
On top of that, the price was much more reasonable compared to Seoul. If you like mango shaved ice, I highly recommend trying it in the summer.
