Welcome to Enjoy Your Life. Today, I will talk about my trip to Switzerland.
Zurich
Zurich is a global financial hub, much like New York City, and the largest city in Switzerland. As I traveled around the country, I felt that everything was generally expensive. Personally, I thought Zurich was as beautiful and charming as any other European city, but it didn’t leave a very strong impression on me.
I took a tram ride to explore the city, and it was a pleasant experience. Along the way, I passed by the global headquarters of the famous financial company, Credit Suisse.
At night, the streets were especially beautiful, with an atmosphere that I think many women would particularly enjoy. I also caught a glimpse of the Savoy Hotel in the distance, a well-known five-star hotel.
Summary: In Zurich, the city was beautiful, but it didn’t impress me very much. What stood out most was how expensive everything was. Zurich is a global financial center, similar to New York City, but it doesn’t feel as grand as New York. Personally, I would give it three out of five.
BarenPark Bern
Bern means ‘bear’ in English, so I think the city is famous for its connection to bears. Bern was truly a beautiful city.
When I visited, the streets were quiet with very few people around, which made it easy to enjoy peacefully. Unfortunately, the bear park was closed because of the cold weather, so I could only look around from outside.
The city itself was stunning. I passed by the bear park, took a quick look, and then got back on the bus. But the streets were so beautiful that I couldn’t resist getting off midway to walk around for a bit.
Afterwards, I continued my journey by train.
Switzerland feels like such a peaceful and natural country. Looking out over the meadows, I couldn’t help but think that hearing a yodel there would have felt perfectly fitting.
Summary: Unfortunately, I couldn’t visit the bear park because it wasn’t open yet, but the village was so pretty, and I was happy to enjoy it in peace and quiet. I plan to return when the weather is warmer, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Bern. Personally, I’d give it five out of five.
Mount Pilatus
Switzerland is famous for its breathtaking natural scenery. During my trip, I traveled around by train, and I was amazed at the landscapes outside the window—it felt like a nonstop series of beautiful views.
When I arrived at Lucerne Station, I took a bus to Mount Pilatus and then started my journey up the mountain by cable car. At the entrance, there were people playing music since morning, but I wasn’t sure what kind of instrument it was—if anyone knows, please let me know in the comments.
As the cable car climbed higher, I enjoyed the fresh air and stunning scenery. The weather was perfect, and at one point, the view reminded me of Gangwon-do in South Korea. The ride was quite long, and I even had to transfer to another cable car to continue going up. Along the way, I stopped to look around and appreciate the natural surroundings, which were truly beautiful.
The higher I went, the more mysterious the scenery became. From one point, it looked very different from Gangwon-do—the steep mountains and shifting clouds created an almost otherworldly feeling. I even imagined a dragon emerging from between the clouds.
Finally, I reached the top. Words couldn’t describe how incredible it was. Surrounded by the stunning Swiss landscape, I understood why people praise Switzerland’s natural beauty so much.
The only downside was the cold—it was freezing at the summit. Still, despite shivering for a while, I was completely captivated by the scenery. The vast sky above was unbelievable, and even though I tried taking pictures, it could never compare to seeing it in person.
After spending time at the top, I took the cable car back down, carrying with me memories of Switzerland’s majestic nature.
Summary: When I arrived in Lucerne and reached the halfway point of Mount Pilatus, I felt it was somewhat similar to Gangwon Province in South Korea. But when I reached the summit, I was overwhelmed by the mysterious atmosphere and the spectacular scenery—it was truly breathtaking, and I loved it. If you plan to visit Lucerne, I highly recommend adding Mount Pilatus to your itinerary. Personally, I’d give it five out of five.
Have a great day.
